Spent some time at the thrift store with Kezia this evening looking for the final musical costume pieces for the show. We found a few things as far as costumes go but also this haul: 2 shirts for Kaden, a pair of jeans in BN condition, and a shirt for Kiandra/Kezia. The grand total was $22.01 but I used my $20 gift certificate and only paid $2. (Notice how it was my gift card and the pile of stuff is for the kids…how does that happen? ;)

Kaden's last regular season hockey game was this afternoon. It was an intense game and they were winning 2-1 until the final 0.9 seconds of the game when the other team tied it up!

It's spirit week at Kiandra and Kezia's high school and today was colour day. Each grade wears an identifying colour: Yellow for Grade 9, Red for Grade 10, Green for Grade 11, and Blue for Grade 12. Kezia was still getting ready when I left this morning, but I was able to snap this of Kiandra in her multi-shades of green:

We may have found the shoes Kezia needs to wear for musical this year...it will be fun to see her walk and dance(!) in these because she's the kind of girl who would (and did!) wear flip flops to her Grade 8 Grad!

Kaden was "called up" to play for the Grade 8 basketball team this afternoon. It was fun to watch him play on the winning side of the game for a change.

Today Kaden wanted Tim Horton's for breakfast and I told him that I would drive him but that with lots of breakfast things in the house, he'd have to pay his own way. He was ok with that and so off we went. When Kaden returned to the van he had a surprise for me...a maple dipped donut.

Today, Kiandra and Kezia were the ones "dropping and dashing" as they left Conrad and me at the community centre and they went back to the church for a lunch meeting. We are still getting used to this new stage of our lives.

Conrad and I were able to sneak in a date night unexpectedly when both girls were off on separate babysitting jobs and then Kaden got called to a friend's house to work on a group homework assignment. Since we had a gift card for the dinner, our date night was free.
